Against All Odds: Brazilian hotpot to be turned over

The home fans could be left disappointed tonight

Over in Brazil tonight, Coritiba are odds-on for their home match against Chapecoense but Paul Robinson thinks they'll struggle to get the win.

Coritiba v Chapecoense
Thursday September 11, 01:00 BST

Coritiba are having a tough time of things this year as after 19 fixtures they are down in 18th place having only taken 17 points. Last year's 13th placed finishers have only won three times this term and they've scored just 14 goals.

Celso Roth's side have not only struggled in the league, but they also blew a 3-0 first leg lead in the Copa do Brasil at Flamengo last week. They've won just one of their last five in front of their own fans and they scored in only one of them.

Chapecoense are newly promoted to this division and while they haven't exactly set the world alight, 20 points from a possible 57 has them in 15th - two places and two points above the relegation zone.

Celso Rodrigues' men have struggled on the road this year and they've now lost three of their lost four away. It is worth noting though that they faced some tough assignments during that period - at leaders, Cruzeiro, and at Santos - and they did earn a draw at Vitoria, not to mention a victory at Sao Paulo a couple of months ago.

There's no disguising the fact that Chapecoense are no world beaters who are much better at home than they are away, but Coritiba are in such bad form right now that they have to be taken on at odds-on. That's why, with their price trading at around the 1.784/5 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
