It’s all still to play for in Group C ahead of the final round of group stage fixtures as Greece face the Ivory Coast and Japan take on Colombia. With three sides still aiming for qualification into the round of 16, read this World Cup Group C betting preview before placing your bets.

Japan vs. Colombia betting (June 24th)

Colombia sealed their qualification from Group C after impressive back-to-back wins against Greece and the Ivory Coast. 22-year-old James Rodriguez, widely considered to be one of the most exciting young talents in world football right now, has been in scintillating form for Los Cafeteros, scoring in both of their previous group games.

Japan currently sit third in the group, knowing only a win can give them a chance of qualifying. With just one point – two behind Ivory Coast who occupy second – the Blue Samurai will also have to rely on Ivory Coast failing to beat Greece in Group C’s other match.

Colombia themselves are unlikely to take their foot off the gas. With top spot not yet guaranteed and a winning mentality crucial for World Cup success, Jos Pkerman’s side will be going all out for the win and achieving an impressive nine group stage points.

The odds on the 12 certainly reflect the magnitude of the occasion. Colombia are being offered at 2.420* – a 41.32% implied probability to make it three wins out of three – whilst Japan are at 3.050* to get their first victory (a 32.79% chance).

Greece vs. Ivory Coast betting (June 24th)

The other match in Group C takes place at Fortaleza between Greece and the Ivory Coast. Both of these sides can still go through to the last 16, but not together. Les lphants currently occupy second place and are two points ahead of the Greeks, meaning only a win can give Greece any chance of qualification.

Greece are being offered at 5.480 to advance from Group C (18.25% probability), Ivory Coast at 1.377 (72.62% probability) and Japan at 8.240 (12.14% probability), so the odds suggest Ivory Coast are the clear favorites to progress.

But the Greeks love an upset, as they proved by winning the European Championship in 2004, and will be hoping they can upset the odds once again and squeeze through from a competitive Group C.

As for the match itself, Ivory Coast are being offered at 2.080* on the 1X2, while Greece are at 3.860*. Greece have a -3 goal difference and they haven’t managed to score at this World Cup, meaning if they win and Japan do as well, they would have to score at the very least three goals and better Japan’s result by at least two goals – Japan have a -1 goal difference.
