Cross-Sport Multiple: Back the stalemate in Recife

Greece adopt their familiar 11 at the back formation

Andrew Hughes thinks Costa Rica and Greece will play out a normal time draw in Recife on Sunday and help land another cross-sport multiple

Bet 1: Back Costa Rica to draw with Greece at 3.185/40

By topping Group D, Costa Rica avoided Colombia in the second round and landed themselves what is on paper and easier tie, but Greece will be no pushovers and this game could well go the distance.

Greece have been underwhelming so far, scraping through to the last sixteen courtesy of a late penalty against Ivory Coat. They have had some misfortune along the way, including an early red card against Japan, but they have shown little ambition, falling back on the same defensive approach they employed under Otto Rehhagel.

They are likely to approach this game in a similar fashion. Costa Rica's manager Jorge Luis Pinto outmanoeuvred his Italian and Uruguayan counterparts but he might struggle to find a way to breach a stubborn Greek defence. Back the 90 minute draw.

Bet 2: Back Wakefield to beat Hull FC at 2.89/5

Hull FC are two places above Wakefield in the Super League table and go into this game as strong favourites, but I think all the value lies with the home side.

The Wildcats had a poor start to the season and a string of poor results led to the resignation of Richard Agar, but under his replacement James Webster, they have won two from two, including a shock 36-28 win over leaders Wigan.

By contrast, Hull FC's recent form isn't that impressive. They've lost five of their last seven and their two wins have come against the lowly London Broncos and the out of form Widnes Vikings. Wakefield have won their last two Super League encounters and can make it three in a row on Sunday.

Bet 3: Back Derbyshire to beat Durham at 2.56/4

Neither of these teams have enjoyed their Natwest T20 Blast campaigns so far and have managed just three wins between them. Durham are the bigger team and go into this game as favourites, but I think Derbyshire are value to pull off a surprise.

They've failed to win any of their first seven matches, but on Friday night dented the play-off chances of Warwickshire by overhauling a decent total with an over to spare thanks to an impressive all-round batting performance. Durham by contrast haven't tasted victory in four matches. Back Derbyshire for the win.
