We make a rare trip to Iceland today
It's action from Iceland for Paul Robinson this evening as he feels that KA Akureyri have to be opposed at odds-on for the visit of Tindastoll...
KA Akureyri v Tindastoll
Thursday June 5, 20:15 BST
KA Akureyri come into this match rock bottom of the Icelandic First Division having lost their opening three fixtures. They were also knocked out of the cup last week as well, so the club are at a low ebb right now. Their defeats may have all been by a single goal, but the worrying thing is that Bjarni Jhannsson's side conceded a total of eight goals in their three league games.
Even when they finished sixth of 12 last year, they weren't exactly rock solid at home. KA won five of their 11 outings at Akureyrarvllur and they certainly feel like a team who are going backwards.
Tindastoll aren't exactly doing much better as they currently sit second from bottom having picked up two points from their opening trio of fixtures. They've only been beaten once though - their first match of the campaign - and we only need them to avoid defeat tonight.
Halldr Jn Sigursson's men may have only finished in ninth place last term but they achieved positive results in six of their 11 on the road and they were usually good for a goal or two. They will certainly get chances against a rocky KA defence later, so if they can hold relatively firm at the back, they have a great chance of taking something from this game.
I don't doubt that KA's form will pick up sooner rather than later, but after three straight defeats and a cup exit I can't be having them at odds-on. That's why, with their price trading at around the 1.728/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
