Claudio Pizarro of Peru
Ed Malyon previews three more game from the South American section of the World Cup Qualifiers...
Bolivia v Peru - 21:00
Bolivia's main advantage over teams has always been the incredible altitude of La Paz, but when Per come to town for tonight's game it's not likely to make a difference.
They will have the home advantage of the roaring crowd, but with the Peruvians already accustomed to such heights this will prove to be more of an even contest than when Chile visited in June and were soundly beaten.
These are arguably the two weakest sides in the South American qualification group, but seem quite evenly matched. For that reason, Per are probably a bit longer than they should be at 5.04/1 considering they have the few standout players.
Bolivia have always relied on the strength of the team rather than individuals, but Per boast four stars going forward that are far above the level of any of their hosts'.
Jefferson Farfn, Claudio Pizarro, Paulo Guerrero and Juan Manuel Vargas are not getting any younger but are all still very talented players, and young defender Carlos Zambrano has stood out for Bundesliga surprise package Eintracht Frankfurt who find themselves second in Germany.
With Per boasting the players that could make the difference as well as an improving defence, laying Bolivia at 1.865/6 appears the best course of action for this one.
Recommended Bet: Lay Bolivia at 1.865/6
Colombia v Paraguay - 21:30
The best Colombian side in a generation plays the worst Paraguayan one for years in a game that seems pretty cut and dry in terms of a result.
The Cafeteros are in as short as 1.538/15 for the win against Paraguay, who are still winless under new manager Gerardo Pelusso with a draw and two defeats from his three games in charge.
The future looks bleak for the Albirroja too, with the old guard of Roque Santa Cruz, Oscar Cardozo and Nelson Heado-Valdez starting to be phased out and the starting XI now looks distinctly average.
Colombia are on fire under new manager Jos Pekerman and have won four from their last five games under the wily former Argentina boss. Their thrashing of Uruguay sent shockwaves throughout the continent while for Paraguay, losses to Bolivia and Venezuela recently were historic for quite the opposite reason.
The hosts have a couple of suspensions to deal with that weaken them centrally, but they still look to have more than enough about them for a comfortable win, especially with Paraguay leaving out their best creative player in Jonny Fabbro.
Colombia have the best defence in the CONMEBOL group and Paraguay the worst attack, so the best bets here may be to back Colombia to win to nil at 2.427/5.
Recommneded Bet: Back Colombia wn to Nil @ 2.427/5
Ecuador v Chile - 22:00
Ecuador's draw at the Centenario on the last matchday was their first ever point in Uruguay and speaks volumes about how far La Tri have come. Antonio Valencia is the obvious poster boy but despite his suspension, Felipe Caicedo, Chucho Benitez and Michael Arroyo are all excellent forward players that have contributed to their lofty position and will fill in for the Manchester United man.
Chile are, of course, difficult opposition but Claudio Borghi has had plenty of difficulties with squad discipline and now he has goalkeeper Claudio Bravo out through injury and pitbull midfielder Gary Medel serving a suspension.
Chile are out at 4.47/2 which seems a big price when you consider the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Matias Fernandez will be starting in attack, but Ecuador's home record is ominous for the Roja. The hosts have won their last seven games in Quito, and the last six of those have been to nil.
Ecuador 2.01/1 also have the upper hand on Borghi's side having beaten them soundly in a friendly only two months ago. Both teams were slightly weakened but it was still a comfortable victory for Reinaldo Rueda's men and with Chile only having won three away games in their last 14, he will be confident of a repeat.
Chile have plenty of quality throughout but have blown so hot and cold since Marcelo Bielsa's departure that it makes this game a tough one for betting.
The Chile Draw No Bet price of 3.185/40 is not bad considering how well they are capable of playing, but despite having plenty of quality throughout the side they have blown incredibly hot and cold since Marcelo Bielsa's departure.
It is probably best to avoid backing a result until the game has begun, but we can more confidently predict a low-scoring tie, with Ecuador's last five games at home going Under 2.5 Goals - and the price is 1.748/11.
Recommended Bet: Back Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.748/11
