Against All Odds: MVV to remain undefeated

We're going Dutch today

Cambuur take on the league leaders in the Dutch Jupiler League this evening and they are odds-on to pick up the win, which is something Paul Robinson finds quite strange.

We've had our share of bad luck in recent weeks, injury time goals, missed penalties when we're laying under 2.5, but when Helsingborgs equalised last night in the 91st minute I thought our luck had changed. Silly me. Hannover went straight down the other end and got a winner. I shall not be deterred though, we're still showing a healthy profit for the year and a change in fortunes can't be too far away.

Cambuur are having a fine campaign and they are up in fourth place with 17 points from their opening nine fixtures. Alfons Arts' men are four from four at their home of De Cambuur Stadion, scoring an impressive 12 goals. They have conceded five though, so their defence is far from watertight.

Looking at their overall form, Cambuur have won just one of their last three; a victory over Dordrecht followed a draw at Veendam, and they then suffered a disappointing loss to Den Bosch last time out. Defender, Tim Bakens, saw red in that one so he will be missing tonight, thus weakening the backline even further.

MVV top the table with 23 points and they are undefeated so far this term. They have won their last four in a row; scoring 12 goals in the process. Manager, Ren Trost, has got his side playing some fantastic stuff and they have a real shot of achieving promotion.

Away from De Geusselt, MVV have been victorious in four of their five matches and they drew the other one against recently relegated, De Graafschap.

This fixture finished 1-0 to MVV last year and given their current form, the call has to be laying Cambuur here. They are just too short at 1.865/6 and that's why I'm making them my lay of the day.
