The X Factor Result: MK1 become MK Gone

MK1 are the third act eliminated from X Factor

Urban duo MK1 are the third act to be eliminated from this year's X Factor. Mike Norman brings us the In-Play odds and the latest market moves...

Relief at last for Barlow. If he were a racehorse, Frankel he most certainly wouldn't be; in fact at one point this evening he looked like being the X Factor equivalent of Quixall Crossett (you'll have to Google that one).

But thankfully the public came to Barlow's rescue... to a certain extent anyway.

Barlow's act Kye Sones found himself in the bottom two of the public vote when tonight's X Factor results were announced, though he always stood a fighting chance of surviving given Sones' sing-off rivals were urban duo MK1.

There was little drama in the decision; Tulisa and Louis choosing to send home Sones, Barlow and Nicole electing to dump MK1 meaning for the third week in a row the elimination went to deadlock. And it was the young duo that lost out in that regard.

MK1 were matched at a high of 10.09/1 in the third elimination market with Sones matched at 19.018/1, though during the sing-off both acts hit a low of 1.68/13.

Despite Barlow's reprieve he still looks the one to be on in the First Mentor Eliminated market. Ella Henderson (Tulisa), Union J (Louis), and both Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur (Nicole) look nailed on to last longer than Barlow's remaining acts. In fact the Take That front man would be doing us all a favour if he sent both Sones and Chris Maloney to the 'one cheesy Christmas hit recording studio' now and just be done with it.

Incidentally, don't go thinking you'll get rich backing Barlow in the market mentioned above as you'll do well to get matched at anywhere near 1.330/100 during the week.

The Winner market is starting to get a four-horse race look to it, with Henderson - available to back at 1.875/6 - looking extremely strong out in front of the well-grouped trio of Douglas (7.26/1). Arthur (8.27/1), and Union J (10.5n/a).

But don't go thinking Henderson is Frankel-esque. Reality TV shows have a habit of getting early odds-on shots beat; remember Susan Boyle, remember Charlotte and Jonathan?

That latter duo got beat by a dog act, and whilst that can't happen in X Factor land, the thought of Henderson getting beat by one of Barlow's donkeys isn't a very pleasant one!
