Tuesday's Race of The Day comes from Lingfield
Timeform give their views on this sprint handicap...
Drawnfromthepast was gaining his fifth win of 2012 in 5f handicap at Wolverhampton last time, and deserves extra credit for racing close to strong pace throughout. Makes plenty of appeal under a penalty.
Muhdiq left Brian Meehan before handicap bow, and better effort for new yard when a strong-finishing second at Kempton (5f) last time. On a fair mark, but may prove ideally suited by 6f on that evidence.
Rebecca Romero is a strong-travelling sprinter who resumed winning ways at Bath in July. Generally held form since, again looking most unlucky when denied a run at Sandown last time. Remains one to be interested in.
Mac Gille Eoin is well treated on last year's form, and better signs on first start for new yard when third at Wolverhampton (6f) last time. Stayed on well there, and must prove he can cope with drop back to 5f now.
Falasteen made a promising debut for current yard when fourth at Bath in July. Not matched that since, but showed bright speed when third in a 5f claimer at Wiolverhampton on Saturday, and not ruled out now.
I See You has been much improved for fitting of cheekpieces, winning at Goodwood in August before a pair of runners-up medals at Bath since. Given a break since latest outing, and market useful now.
Billy Red was a C&D scorer in March and defied a rise in weights to score at Brighton in June. Below form since, although missed break a valid excuse at Brighton in August, and kept fresh since that run.
Fathom Five is a very speedy gelding who has done all his winning over 5f. Yet to fire this year, but been given a big chance by the handicapper, and any market move should be noted.
For Shia And Lua reserves best for Wolverhampton, winning 6f maiden last autumn and returning to form when second in handicap there last month. Below form in cheekpieces on last 2 starts, however, and passed over.
Desert Strike got back to winning ways when landing a seller at Folkestone in July, but form since has been patchy to say the least, and easy to oppose after latest poor effort.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Drawnfromthepast
2. Rebecca Romero
3. Falasteen
Timeform view: Drawnfromthepast produced a seasonal best when winning against a pace bias at Wolverhampton last time and is worth sticking with under a penalty, this C&D likely to suit him. Rebecca Romero deserves a change of luck and is considered, along with Falasteen who shaped well at the weekend.
