Premier League Results: Draws and dismissals the order of the day

Sylvain Distin's header led to Everton's equaliser

Nothing could separate the four teams on show in the Premier League this afternoon with both games ending all-square. Mike Norman reports the In-Play odds...

Everton remain around the 6.05/1 mark to record a Top Four Finish this season after managing just a draw with bottom of the table QPR at Loftus Road this afternoon.

David Moyes' men fell behind after just two minutes when Junior Hoillet picked up the ball in his own half, ran at the heart of the Toffees defence, and fired a shot at goal that was cruelly deflected past Tim Howard. Hoillet was matched at 16.5n/a to score the first goal.

In an end-to-end game played in pouring rain it was Everton that scored next, Sylvain Distin's powerful header hitting the foot of the post before findig the net via the back of QPR's unfortunate keeper Julio Cesar. The Half Time 1-1 Score was backed at 10.09/1.

Both sides had chances to win the game in the second half, though Moyes will be the happier after surving the last 30 minutes with just 10 men after Steven Pienaar was dismissed for two bookable offences. A Sending Off was matched at a high of 7.613/2 with the 1-1 final score being backed at 9.28/1.

QPR remain rooted to the bottom of the table with three points from their opening eight fixtures, though Mark Hughes' men are still only the fifth club listed at 3.613/5 in the Relegation market.

In the early afternoon kick-off Newcastle were pegged back late in the game as they drew 1-1 with Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby.

Alan Pardew's men got off to the perfect start when Yohan Cabaye fired home from close range in the third minute, after Black Cats keeper Simon Mignolet could only parry the ball into the Newcastle man's direction. Cabaye was matched at 27.026/1 in the First Goalscorer market.

Newcastle were dominating proceedings until Cheick Tiote put his team at a numerical disadvantage, receiving a straight red card for a lunge on Steven Fletcher. The Yes option in the Sending Off market - as predicted by Betfair Ambassador Lee Dixon - was backed at a high of 4.03/1 In-Play.

However it wasn't until the last five minutes that Sunderland made their man advantage count, though they needed a helping hand from Demba Ba to do so. A Seb Larsson free-kick was headed goalwards by John O'Shea, the ball hitting the Newcastle striker and finding it's way into the net.

The 1-1 Correct Score was matched at 8.88/1 with the Draw being backed at 5.04/1.
