Timeform UK SmartPlays: Sunday September 23

Graham Lee can win on Economic Crisis
Timeform provide you with three bets from Hamilton on Sunday...
The opening race provides us with our first SmartPlay, as Deepest Blue is taken to finally get off the mark. Despite having been unsuccessful on six occasions, Deepest Blue hasn't shown any traits to make us doubt his attitude and he shaped with a great deal of promise when returning from a nine-week absence on his nursery bow at Kempton recently. Jamie Osborne's colt is proven on heavy ground, which should stand him in good stead here, and he looks likely to give his running.
Graham Lee's successful transition to the Flat has been well documented, and he can add to his tally by riding Economic Crisis to victory in the 15:50. Alan Berry's three-year-old has been in fine form this year, running consistently well and often finishing in the frame. Testing conditions will pose no problem to Economic Crisis, who has won on the last two occasions that she has raced at Hamilton, and her recent efforts at Chester indicate that she is still at the top of her game. She looks like an extremely solid proposition and has obvious claims of improving her good record here.
Our final SmartPlay comes an hour later as Echo of Footsteps is taken to build on her recent promising effort at Newcastle. That second-placed finish was the best performance that Echo of Footsteps has managed to produce and it would be unwise to rule out further improvement, particularly when you consider that her best efforts as a juvenile came on testing ground.
Timeform SmartPlays:
