Newmarket's three-day Cambrideshire meeting starts this afternoon, and all three of today's tips are engaged at the Rowley. The Princess Royal Richard Hambro listed race for fillies and mares at 15:10 looks competitive, even with the withdrawal of Sea of Heartbreak. However, arguably the most progressive in the field is three-year-old Gallipot, who ran a cracker when not beaten far in the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster two weeks ago. The drop back in trip shouldn't be a problem given she had enough speed to win two 11-furlong handicaps on polytrack in August, and she's fancied to give Gosden and Buick another black-type win.
Saeed bin Suroor's three runners gives him a strong hand in the Jockey Club Rose Bowl at 16:15, with Cavalryman and Lost In The Moment coming out one and two on our ratings. Lost In The Moment got the better of Cavalryman in the Lonsdale Cup at York last month, but it's fair to say that the latter wasn't at his best that day, and is worth another chance to confirm his superiority under Frankie Dettori. He proved his stamina for this trip when slamming two of today's rivals, Aaim To Prosper and Chiberta King, in a listed event at Sandown in July, and a reproduction of that form would make him difficult to beat.
Most of the runners in the Arkle Finance handicap at 16:50 have something to prove for one reason or another, so this looks a good opportunity for lightly-raced three-year-old Basseterre. Generally progressive, Charles Hills' colt often leaves the impression he has more to offer given how strongly he travels in his races, coming from last to first under today's rider Kieren Fallon at Haydock in May before being left with too much to do at Ayr the following month. He might have just needed his return from a break at Sandown two weeks ago and is fancied to resume winning ways in this.
