Carlito Brigante is a Cheltenham winner but is to be opposed at Perth
Today's movers come from the meetings at Perth and Newmarket
Our first selection runs in Perth's 14.45 contest where Ifandbutwhynot has been a solid favourite and is now trading at 2.3411/8 from an early 3.185/40. This one makes his hurdles debut today after some good runs in bumpers last season. These included a runaway win at Newcastle before finishing a close up fourth in a Listed race at Ascot. In the context of today's contest that looks like decent form which suggests he may well be a different class to his rivals.
We stay at Perth for today's negative in their novice chase at 15.20 where Carlito Brigante has drifted out from 2.021/1 to 2.6413/8. Gordon Elliot sends this decent hurdler over from Ireland - which normally could be taken as a tip in itself - however, he ran no sort of race last time out at Kilbeggan in June which makes him impossible to back with any confidence today. He also faces a couple of decent hurdlers making their chase debut today so a lay looks the call.
Our final mover is at Newmarket where there has been some early support for Directorship in the 16:50 race from 16.5n/a in to 10.09/1. He broke a blood vessel when disappointing at Sandown last time out, but ran well in competitive handicaps before that. George Baker's mount has been given a break since his latest exertions and the early money suggests he is back to his best - and that would certainly bring him in to the reckoning this afternoon.
