In Perth's 15:20 2m Handicap Chase Beidh Tine Anseo has drifted in the betting out to 4.03/1 from 3.54n/a.
Lucinda Russell's six-year-old bids to atone for a lacklustre effort at Bangor last month when sent off joint favourite. A mistake at the last put paid to his chances then and this multiple-winning hurdler does not yet convince over the larger obstacles despite a respectable chase debut. With all the money coming for his more experienced stable mate Kai Broon, he does not look like a serious betting proposition this time.
Down in Sussex Eagles Peak has been well supported into 3.953/1 from 6.87n/a for Goodood's 16:15 1m4f Handicap.
The Newmarket maiden he won last summer has since worked out well with the horse he beat conclusively into second that day, Thimaar, going on to win a number of times and compete well at Group level. His subsequent run at York was poor but he may well have been unnerved by running in a big field for the first time. Sir Michael Stoute's colt is difficult to weigh up having been off the track for over a year but the potential for improvement is obvious and the market is suggesting a big performance today.
Finally back at Perth Sun Tzu has been backed dramatically into 5.69/2 from 8.95n/a in the 16:30 3m Handicap Chase.
Peter Bowen's eight-year-old has put in some disappointing displays this year but mostly on unfavourable soft ground and he bounced back to form on a better surface at the end of July, winning a Southwell handicap under top weight by a resounding 17 lengths. The gelding gets his preferred quick going again here at a venue where he won last year and if in the same mood can have a say in the outcome off this higher mark.
