Today's Australian SmartPlays come from Moonee Valley

It's tough to find value plays at the Valley with a handful of races boasting a clear favourite and the markets surrounding them looking fairly well established, but Timeform are here to help.

The Leon Corstens-trained Tokugawa does look very well placed back to handicaps in Race 3 (10:45 BST). He holds a clear edge in this race with the nearest horse to him on form, Spacecraft, a long while between wins and very opposable. The $3.30 currently available looks over the odds.

The Group 2 Moir Stakes (12:15 BST) sees Buffering kick off a spring campaign that should hopefully lead to a well deserved Group 1 success. He has been in the first four home no less than ten times at the top level so far with Black Caviar and Hay List coming along at just the wrong time for the tough Queenslander. He is the clear class galloper in the field and $2.80 seems a fair price for him to get his campaign off to a winning start.

A typically competitive JRA Cup (13:15 BST) closes the card with the very promising Excluded to go off punters elect. He is certainly a promising type progressing nicely but this is a very competitive line up. Fruehling is another with a big boom on him at the moment though it seems slightly unjustified at this point in time. He has been racing well but in far easier contests and he looks way under the odds. We are happy to lay him in the place market at close to even money as he has plenty to find.
