Follow The Money: An Irish gamble is on at Newton Abbot

Will the Irish gamble be landed?
Today's Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Newton Abbot, Folkestone and Beverley.
We start our recommendations over the sticks at Newton Abbot where, in the selling handicap hurdle at 16:20, the Irish raider, Bracken House, has been backed from 9.5n/a in to 6.411/2. The fact that there has been money for a horse sent "over the water" and yet to place from ten outings rather suggests that connections feel, despite being rated higher here than for any of his previous outings, that the gelding is better handicapped than results to date have shown. At the price and in a race bereft of obviously "well in" runners, this one could be too good to resist.
To the flat now and the 16:30 at Folkestone we find the day's negative which comes in the shape of High Five Prince who has drifted from a low of 2.0421/20 out to 3.02/1. With no less than seven non-runners in this race, ironically it is the reason for the absence of those horses that gives us some hope of getting this one beat, namely the going conditions. Despite a facile nine length victory last timeand the fact that Mark Usher's charge escapes a penalty for that win (apprentice handicap), it remains to be seen whether the horse can replicate that form on what will be heavy going. With that doubt in mind and a career record of one from 18 we are happy to take High Five Prince on.
Our final race in what hopefully will be a profitable half an hour for us is Giorgio's Dragon in the 16:40 at Beverley who has been supported as if defeat is out of the question from 10.09/1 in to 3.814/5. Followers of trainer Richard Fahey rarely leave their money behind with gambles of this nature and, while excuses need to be found for his run last time when favourite (beaten nine lengths), the form of his previous two seconds last month give connections every chance of success today.
