Against All Odds: Sampdoria to conquer Rome

Roma have conceded plenty at home in recent times
Roma are solid odds-on to defeat Sampdoria in this evening's Serie A clash but they have failed to record a win in any of their last five home league games, and in-form tipster Paul Robinson thinks they are worth taking on.
It was a case of another day, another dollar yesterday as Borussia Dortmund blew a 2-0 lead to be held 3-3. It meant another winner for us, our 10th in 12 selections, and with confidence high, I'm taking a chance on a shorter priced lay than usual.
Roma have made a decent start to the season under new coach, Zdenk Zeman, and they are up in sixth place with seven points from their opening four fixtures. The Yellow-Reds were impressive away at Inter, winning 3-0, but performances at home have left a lot to be desired.
Against Catania, Roma required a late equaliser to secure a point and then against Bologna, a second half capitulation saw them lose 2-3 after leading 2-0 at half time. In truth, their form at Stadio Olimpico has been iffy for a while now; no league win in five with 11 goals conceded and no clean sheet in seven.
Sampdoria earned promotion back to the top flight via the play-offs last year and new man in charge, Ciro Ferrara, has bettered that success so far this season. The Genoa based club are up in fourth place with three wins and a draw from their opening quartet of fixtures.
Victories over Siena and Pescara were impressive enough, but the 1-0 win over AC Milan at the San Siro was a hugely impressive result. It not only shows that Sampdoria can mix it with the best, it also shows that they can get results at intimidating away grounds, which will stand them in good stead tonight.
Roma are the worthy favourites here given their class and experience, however they are far too short at around the 1.594/7 mark and that's why I'm making them my lay of the day.
