Timeform Radio Racing Tips: Go Dutch at Sedgefield

It'll feel like summer at Sedgefield
Timeform Radio pundit Dan Barber makes the case for backing two against the field in a pair of races at Sedgefield today
It just wouldn't be right if Timeform's Jumps Editor turned to the pair of higher-quality Flat cards for bets, when one of his favourite National Hunt courses is on the afternoon agenda. Lucky, then, that a few races in particular make appeal as punting mediums.
Tempting were both Indepub and Brady, who set lofty benchmarks in their respective races on the card, the former looking to have a doubtful stayer in Mr Red Clubs to beat and the latter a cut above his field on Timeform ratings.
Instead, though, the eyes were drawn to taking a couple against the field in both the 15:25 and 17:30.
The former contest could well centre around Gougane, who promises to get a relatively easy lead and shaped well against the thrown-in Ruttan Lake last time, and Streedagh Lady, who very much caught the eye at Perth on her belated return and can pick up the progressive thread second time back.
The market for the finale has recent Stratford scorer Louis Ludwig clear of the rest, but it may not be so cut and dry. Granted, Tim Vaughan's enigma landed a hefty gamble by some margin at Stratford the other afternoon, but things were set up for him there (overly-strong pace) and the feeling is that last week was 'the day'.
Heading the alternatives are Snooker and Goodness. The former returns to hurdles from a tempting mark having largely run well on the Flat since last seen over timber, while Goodness likewise is potentially well handicapped on Flat form and shaped better than the result from a 5 lb higher mark at Cartmel (heavy ground/hampered late on) on his recent handicap hurdle debut.
Recommended Bets
Back Gougane @ 6.05/1 and Streedagh Lady @ 5.59/2 in the 15:25 at Sedgefield
Back Snooker @ 6.05/1 and Goodness @ 8.415/2 in the 17:30 at Sedgefield
