Formula One: A distracted Hamilton is one to avoid

Criticism has been raining down on Lewis Hamilton after he tweeted sensitive information out
As the fallout from Lewis Hamilton's decision to reveal highly sensitive information to his Twitter followers last week, Ralph Ellis says the British driver is one to avoid backing at this weekend's F1 race in Monza
Quote of the day has to come from Lewis Hamilton: "I don't think I am making anyone unhappy by what I am saying or doing."
Britain's big motor racing star is talking about his conversion to Twitter as a way of communicating with his fans. Very quickly he's built up more than a million followers. And he might have been making them happy by giving glimpses of his life, but he sure hasn't pleased the people at McLaren HQ too much.
Last week at Spa there were the barbs at stablemate Jenson Button being given the new rear wing in preference to him - and then the bizarre decision to release his telemetry chart to the world, a move criticised by Button.
As tweets go, it would be a bit like Rio Ferdinand choosing to send out Manchester United's plans for taking corners and free kicks. What would Sir Alex say to that? No wonder Rio sticks to telling his 3.3million followers about the school run and visiting HMV in Manchester.
Having started this season vowing to get his focus right, Hamilton seems more and more to be getting lost in white noise.
I flagged up last week that he still hadn't resolved his contract issues and warned against backing him in Belgium. And I know the accident which wiped him out early in the race wasn't his fault, but the same health warning has to apply if you're tempted by Lewis as the 3.953/1 favourite to win the Italian Grand Prix this weekend. In 140 characters or less - that's one to lay!
This time the contract issue has come even further to centre stage, with talk that he's been in negotiations to move to Mercedes. His people have tried to deny it, but the very fact that his future at McLaren remains in doubt - and hasn't been helped by his latest tweets - means the story won't go away.
Meanwhile Button, who cruised to victory last week, has been quietly going about his business ahead of another race weekend and if anybody provides value in the betting, it's him. He is 7.413/2 to repeat last week's pole position, roughly the same odds to win the race, and a generous 2.26/5 for a podium finish at a circuit where he has been runner up the last two years.
Monza is pretty much the fastest venue in the Formula One calendar, with up to 70% of it spent at full throttle.
But it also demands heavy braking, making tyre management even more critical. Button proved in Belgium, where he got through the race with just one stop, that nobody is better at smoothing out corners to look after his wheels.
"Our car seems to be particularly well suited to high-speed circuits, and the success we had with a low downforce configuration at Spa is cause for optimism," says Button.
Or to borrow one of his hashtags from his far less controversial
