Sean Calvert previews today's David Cup action, and whilst our man isn't brimming with confidence on the matches on offer, he does fancy a strong Swiss duo to perhaps struggle...
Friday was one of those odd days where all logic went out of the window and you know something's not right when Florian Mayer wins a big match in straight sets.
At least Spain drifted to 1.42/5 for the outright win over the USA during the John Isner vs Nico Almagro marathon encounter and the Czech Republic are very much in their tie against Argentina, so all wasn't quite lost on Friday.
Saturday brings the doubles matches and as ever it's pretty tricky to find any real value, as several of the rubbers feature scratch partnerships, such as in the Czech Republic vs Argentina tie.
But one match where there could be a bit of back-to-lay value comes in the Netherlands vs Switzerland tie where Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka look vulnerable at odds of 1.251/4.
They take on Robin Haase and Jean-Julien Rojer, who are by no means a pushover partnership and look big playing at home and needing to win to stay in the tie at around 4.03/1.
Federer and Wawrinka are no doubles specialists, despite their Olympic gold medal and they have only ever won one match as a partnership in Davis Cup doubles, losing their last two to Chris Guccione/Lleyton Hewitt and Mike Bryan/Mardy Fish.
Federer's Davis Cup doubles record is an OK 11-7, but Wawrinka's is a shocking 2-8 and 0-4 on the clay surface they encounter today.
Rojer is a handy doubles player, who's ranked 17 in the world and regularly partners Aisam Qureshi, with whom he reached the quarter finals of the US Open and semi finals of the French Open this year.
Haase is not a bad doubles player and at least has played with Rojer on a number of occasions, winning their only Davis Cup rubber as a partnership and they should have enough to make this interesting at a big price.

Back to lay Haase/Rojer to beat Federer/Wawrinka at 4.03/1
