QPR v Everton: Super Sunday on the cards for Mark Hughes

When Harry met Sparky

This weekend's Super Sunday clash comes from Loftus Road as struggling QPR take on the high flying Everton, and Paul Robinson is going to take a look at the markets for us.

QPR are rock bottom after a wretched start to their campaign that began with a 5-0 home drubbing by Swansea and hasn't got much better since. Not only have their fortunes been dismal in the league, they have also been knocked out of the Capital One Cup, at home, to Reading.

Mark Hughes has spent plenty of cash in transfer fees and wages, and while he has received public backing from his chairman, the figure of Harry Redknapp looms large as the whispers about an impending managerial return begin to get louder. Somewhat eerily then, a defeat on Sunday will leave Rangers with two points from eight matches, the exact same start that Spurs had when Redknapp was appointed back in 2008.

Luckily for Hughes, Everton have key men missing and they could be there for the taking on Sunday. Marouane Fellaini has been impressive since his switch from midfield to target man, but he missed the recent internationals through injury, and even if he is fit, it is likely he will sit out given the fact he's on four yellow cards and one more would see him miss the derby versus Liverpool.

Nicika Jelavic is undoubtedly a top class finisher but his hold up play leaves a lot to be desired. He will likely have Victor Anichebe or Kevin Mirallas playing off him, but there are doubts about their ability to retain possession, whether it be through a lack of heart or a lack of size.

Another key player for the Toffees is Darren Gibson, as he keeps the midfield ticking over effectively when on the field. In his absence, Phil Neville and Leon Osman have been holding down the fort, but in games away from Goodison, they have often been overrun, first by West Brom then by Wigan.

QPR can be backed at 3.45n/a to pick up their first win of the season on Sunday and that appears to be the value given the forecasted line-ups.

Three of Everton's four away matches have gone over 2.5 goals so far this year, with five of Rangers' seven, home and away, doing the same. You can back that trend to continue at a generous 1.9620/21 and if you feel like a real flutter, then Over 5.5 goals at 15.014/1 is definitely worth a tickle.
