Chris Powell could be celebrating come SaturdayChristian Crowther continues to plot another top five teams' downfall in the unpredictable Championship...
Lay Blackpool to beat Charlton @ 1.75/7
It's becoming a recurring theme with these weekly lays to choose a Championship game and this is solely because it's the league which shocks like no other. This was abundantly clear last week when tipping Birmingham to get something at table-topping Brighton even though the blues had only days earlier succumbed to a cataclysmic 5-0 spanking at home to Barnsley. For this week's victims of Championship madness it's Blackpool who by rights should put away Charlton - sitting 16 places below them at present. However, the Tangerines have lost two out of their last three including a 3-1 humbling in their last home league game to Huddersfield. Furthermore, Charlton have recorded a win and a draw against two other top five sides this season.
Lay Catania to beat Parma @ 2.35/4
Only four places separate these sides going into this weekend's clash and this is a fixture which was too close to call on both occasions last season. It was Parma who ended up eight points clear of their hosts at the end of the 2011/12 though. Catania have picked up some decent results this campaign but were brutally dealt with by Bologna last weekend in a 4-0 thumping which will have dented confidence in the camp. Meanwhile, Parma have been more steady than electrifying, , recording three successive draws in Italy's top flight. The opposition in that level spell has been notable though, with Milan, Genoa and Fiorentina all unable to beat this stubborn Parma side.
Lay Toulouse to beat Valenciennes @ 1.9420/21
Valenciennes sent shockwaves through French Ligue One last weekend by emphatically putting an end to Marseilles' unbeaten start to their campaign. Former Liverpool man Anthony La Tallec was at the heart of the 4-1 thumping with a strike either side of the break. He must have seriously improved since his time at Anfield. The visitors will have confidence coursing through them as they take on Toulouse in a fixture they have done pretty well in over recent seasons. Valenciennes have recorded a win and two draws at the Stadium Municipal from their last four visits. Only one point and one place separates the two in 2012/13 so a close match can be expected.
