Can we open up with a winner at Lingfield?
Today's movers come from the meetings at Lingfield and Yarmouth.
Our first selection comes in the opener at the Surrey track, the Apprentice Hadicap over 1m4f at 14:00, in which Langham Lily, having looked slightly uneasy in early trading, has cemented her place at the head of the market and now trades at 3.02/1 from a high of 5.39/2. The form of the filly's last run is there for all to see when she finished well but was eventually beaten by the shortest margin over two furlongs. Claimer Thomas Brown is an up and coming jockey and will be hoping to add to his tally of one from four for trainer Chris Wall this afternoon.
We move to Yarmouth now for two bets - the first being Lady Sledmere in the 15:20 who has been supported from 16.5n/a in to 11.5n/a. Having shown absolutely nothing in her first three runs this season (beaten over 200 lengths in total), there was substantially more to like about her run last time when third at Newcastle. She takes on the winner that day, Clumber Place, on 4lbs better terms today for less than two lengths defeat and she must have every chance of turning round that form today.
Our final mover is the day's negative which comes in the shape of Geeaitch in the 16:50 who has drifted from 3.002/1 out to 3.90n/a. A winner last time on the polytrack at Wolverhampton, the gelding is not certain to appreciate the testing going and with a 6lb penalty to shoulder, and giving weight all round, we are happy to take Geeaitch on today.
