It's two backs and a lay at Catterick today in a one course special for Follow The Money fans.
We start in the 5f Maiden at 15:00 for our lay, where we have seen negative market vibes for Heaven's Guest. Matched for decent money at as low as 2.0811/10 early doors, this Richard Fahey inmate is now trading around the 2.915/8 mark. His last run at York in September was a decent effort but that was on firm going and he will encounter very different conditions today. It is perhaps noteworthy to report that the current market favourite, Laylas Oasis, will have no problems with the conditions as will a clutch of other runners. The drift on Heaven's Guest does look significant and he is taken to get stuck in the mud today.
Moving on to our first positive of the day where we can report solid support for Blue Dune in the 16:00 Handicap. This Invincible Spirit-colt started off over sprint distances but made no impression before being stepped up significantly in trip. The move to the staying ranks did the trick and he can be considered fairly unlucky not to have won over two miles at Wolverhampton last week, when collared close home. The selection has been turned out quickly and remains on a decent mark. Decent money has trimmed Blue Dune from an early 4.03/1 in to 2.6813/8 and he is taken to get his head in front.
Our final mover can be found in the 16:30 Go Racing In Yorkshire Handicap where Bold Cuffs has been a warm order moving in from 7.6013/2 to 4.607/2. His last run in heavy ground over 1m5f at Chester ten days ago where he finished third reads well, given that jockey Chris Catlin probably pressed the button a bit too early. That showed that today's trip and going will pose no concern and with the money down Bold Cuffs can land the spoils in a competitive race.
