Cesarewitch Handicap: Simcock hoping that Montaser makes cut

David Simcock trains Montaser
David Simcock has his sights set on the Cesarewitch with Montaser and hopes that he will make the cut for the big handicap at Newmarket on October 13...
The progressive Rail Link colt was narrowly denied a hat-trick when going down by three-parts of a length to Handsome Man over a mile and three-quarters at Yarmouth last time out.
Montaser currently occupies a prominent position in the market for the marathon contest, trading at 10.09/1 on Betfair.
Simcock said: "If he gets in the Cesarewitch he will definitely run. It was a great prep at Yarmouth, he just got done on the line but I was very happy with him."
The Newmarket trainer also had news on Red Duke, who was last seen in Turkey on what was his first start since joining Simcock from John Quinn.
Simcock said: "The next time you see him will be in Dubai during the winter. He's been gelded and we were really pleased with his run in Turkey. I think he will do a fair bit of globe-trotting next year."
