Third on his debut before registering victories at Gowran Park and Leopardstown, the Aidan O'Brien-trained juvenile was a long odds-on favourite stepped up to Group 2 class.

Outsider Orgilgo Bay led the four runners into the home straight, but Battle Of Marengo was always on his tail and took the lead with a couple of furlongs to run.

Joseph O'Brien had to get to work, but Battle of Marengo responded well and never looked like being caught.

Orgilgo Bay filled the runner-up spot, three and a half lengths adrift of the winner, with Probably and Muaanid third and fourth respectively.
