Clive Brittain's Teofilo filly Aseela (15:20 Yarmouth) had shown some promise in maidens previously, but took her form to a new level once upped in trip to a mile and starting life in nurseries last time, looking unlucky not to open her account at Kempton, having been set a lot to do and just failing. Already proven on turf and off a mark only 1 lb higher, she looks sure to win a race like this on that showing.
The Norfolk coastal track also hosts a cracking handicap for stayers with several contenders chasing a penalty to sneak into the weights for next month's Cesarewitch. A couple of those, namely Repeater and the progressive three-year-old Montaser (16:20) are right at the forefront of the ante-post market for the Newmarket marathon and, while the former is thrown in on a literal reading of his Doncaster Cup fourth last week, Montaser looks a handicapper to keep firmly on side after successes at Haydock and Ascot on his last two outings and is taken to add to that haul here.
Keeping Time (17:00 Pontefract) is very well bred, being from the family of Timepiece and connections will be hoping this slow learner has more luck in running than his Group 1-winning relation yesterday, when the former Falmouth Stakes winner was trapped on the rail and unable to get a run until too late in a listed event at Yarmouth. A reproduction of the selection's best effort earlier this month, when a runner-up at Lingfield over this 10-furlong trip, gives him leading form claims and his main concerns here may come from Marcus Tregoning's pair of unraced fillies Anqooda and Estemaala.
