The Big Wednesday Multiple: Bayern to exorcise Champions League demons

Mario Manduki has settled quickly at Bayern
It's that time of the week for the big Wednesday multiple as Paul Robinson selects a home win, an away win, a match to go over 2.5 goals and a match to go under 2.5 goals. Here are his picks...
Bet 1: Bayern Munich (HOME) @ 1.4 (2/5)
There are some cracking Champions League games being played tonight and this is one of them as Bayern Munich take on Valencia.
Bayern have a superb record in this competition, especially at home as it's now 14 wins from their last 16. Jupp Heynckes' side were the beaten finalists last year but they seem to have put that bitter disappointment behind them; convincingly winning all five of their competitive games so far this season. Mario Gomez will again be missing through injury but new signing, Mario Manduki has hit the ground running with three goals already.
Valencia also have a rich pedigree in the Champions League; beaten finalists in successive seasons in 2000 and 2001. They failed to progress from the group last time though and they are struggling to hold on to their best players; David Silva, Juan Mata and Jordi Alba all leaving in the last couple of years.
The Germans look like a solid bet here and should provide us with our home win of the evening.
Bet 2: Benfica (AWAY) @ 2.1 (11/10)
We stay in the Champions League for our away victory as Benfica travel to Scotland to take on Celtic.
The Portuguese side lost in the quarter-finals to Chelsea last year, but they ran them very close. The Eagles were unbeaten in the group phase and that included a draw at Old Trafford alongside victories and clean sheets away at Basel and Oelul Galai. Oscar Cardozo and Rodrigo have been amongst the goals domestically and they should cause plenty of trouble for the Celtic defence.
Celtic are back in the group phase of this competition for the first time since 2008 and in all honesty, simply getting this far was Neil Lennon's target. Even though bitter rivals, Glasgow Rangers, have been demoted from the SPL, the Hoops are only in fifth place; winning just two of their five fixtures and losing to St Johnstone at the weekend.
The atmosphere will be electric in Celtic Park tonight, but I expect the home team to fall some way short of the standard required and Benfica look a huge price to start their campaign with a win.
Bet 3: Ipswich v Wolves (Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.8 (4/5)
Our goalfest of the day will hopefully come from the Championship as Ipswich Town host Wolves.
Ipswich have made a terrible start to the season; five points from a possible 15, 23rd place and knocked out the League Cup by Carlisle United. The problem for Paul Jewell's side has been at the back where they have conceded 11 goals at an average of over two per game. They have only scored four times themselves, but three of those have come in their two fixtures at Portman Road.
Wolves have made a slow start in their quest for promotion straight back to the top flight and they currently sit in 12th with seven points from their opening five. Tonight represents their game in hand over most of their rivals though and a win could see them go as high as sixth. Four of their last five in all competitions have had three goals or more and their last two on the road have gone over 3.5.
Bet 4: Chelsea v Juventus (Under 2.5 goals) @ 1.68 (17/25)
The column concludes back in Europe's elite club competition as the defending champions take on the Italian champions.
Chelsea must still be wondering how they won this trophy back in May and it's now the middle of September. Overturning a 3-1 deficit against Napoli, coming back from 2-0 down at the Nou Camp with 10 men and then beating a German team on penalties in their own backyard.
Roberto Di Matteo will be looking for a solid start to their European campaign and as Juventus represent their toughest rival in the group, I'd expect caution from the Italian, with the remit being to avoid defeat.
Juventus are back in the Champions League for the first time since 2009 and they look like serious contenders if they can reproduce their domestic form. Antonio Conte's men went through last season unbeaten and they have won all three of their matches so far in this one. Like his counterpart, I expect Conte to set his side up to keep it tight and not to lose, rather than to gain a victory.
This has all the ingredients for a low-scoring affair; an Italian team away from home, two Italian managers and a draw being a good result for both sides. The odds of under 2.5 reflect this, but it's still decent value and will hopefully complete our multiple nicely.
