Opta Stats: Defoe to again reward new Tottenham boss

Jermain Defoe is relishing his top dog status at Spurs
Jermain Defoe is scoring goals for both club and country this season and the little fox in the box doesn't look like stopping any time soon...
West Brom v Reading (Saturday, 15:00)
Shane Long scored the winning goal the last time these two sides met; as a Reading player in a 1-0 FA Cup win in January 2011
Long will be itching to do well against his old club and his new employers will also be looking to carry on a great run of results against the Royals at home. The Baggies have won seven and lost none of their last eight league meetings at the Hawthorns against Reading. Long already has three goals to his name this term and, with Peter Odemwingie suspended, the Irishman should be guaranteed a start here.
Recommended Bet: Back Long to score @ 2.77/4
West Ham v Sunderland (Saturday, 15:00)
Steven Fletcher has scored three goals from three shots on target for the Black Cats
If some Sunderland fans were left bemused by the amount of money spent on the former Wolves man this summer then his goal-scoring economy so far should have alleviated the gravest of concerns. Fletcher has displayed all the attributes you would expect from a top striker and most importantly knows how to stick them away.
Recommended Bet: Back Fletcher to score @ 3.65n/a
Liverpool v Man United (Sunday, 13:30, Sky Sports 1)
Robin van Persie scored both goals as Arsenal beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield last season and has netted four in his last five games against the Merseysiders
Van Persie's hat-trick against Southampton will have already placed the Dutchman on the first rung of the ladder towards legendary status at Old Trafford. However, a much easier path to United immortality lies in carrying on his prolific scoring exploits against their fiercest rivals and, with four goals already in the league, you wouldn't bet against him doing just that at Anfield.
Recommended Bet: Back van Persie to score @ 3.1511/5
Tottenham v QPR (Sunday, 16:00)
Jermain Defoe has fired in more shots (26) than any other player in the Premier League this season
Unlike previous seasons at White Hart Lane, Defoe finally has a manager who believes in him and the England striker is repaying that faith in kind - with three goals from four starts. A striker's confidence comes from playing regularly and at present it seems like the miniature goal machine will notch in every game he plays.
Recommended Bet: Back Defoe to score @ 2.26/5
