Aviva Premiership Betting: Northampton to end Bath's run

Back Northampton to come from behind tonight
It's round three of the Aviva Premiership this weekend and at least two teams are going to lose their unbeaten records. Richard O'Hagan previews the action.
There's a pretty even split in the Aviva Premiership at the moment. Five sides have 100% records. Five others haven't won a game yet. Only Exeter and Gloucester have experienced different fortunes in each of their two games. At least two of those unbeaten records are going to go this weekend, though.
The first one to fall will be at the Recreation Ground tonight, where Bath take on Northampton. Neither side has looked wholly convincing in their games to date, but with the top of the league looking like it will be as tight as it has ever been this season every win, however scrappily gained, counts. Last week Bath recorded a home win over Wasps, whilst the Saints ground out a 24-21 home win over Exeter. There's a temptation to think that this means that Bath are the side with the better form, but in terms of consistency Exeter have looked a better side than Wasps this season and that to my mind puts a greater premium on the Northampton win.
Being the home side I would expect Bath to start the faster, but I think the Saints will prevail overall and that makes the 8.0n/a on offer for Bath to lead at half-time but Northampton to win look very attractive. Should you wish to follow it, the game is live on ESPN tonight with kick-off at 19:45.
The other unbeaten record to go will come at Wembley Stadium tomorrow afternoon, where Saracens host Leicester Tigers. It promises to be a tremendous game between two sides both known for rising to the big stage. Both teams are on something of a hot streak stretching back to last season. It is Sarries' sixth 'home' game at Wembley and they have only lost there once. Their only defeat in their last six home games anywhere came against the Tigers in last season's Premiership semi-final. Against that, Leicester are unbeaten in their last six away games, the last of which was a gentle beating up of Premiership new boys London Welsh.
It is a tough game to call, with both sides hovering around even money, Sarries at {2.14] and Leicester at 1.97n/a. On balance, I'm going to plump for Saracens. The heat and firm pitch are more likely to suit their style of play, and Leicester are not normally that great a side in September, gaining most of their success by their strength in depth and ability to ride out injury problems as the season takes its toll.
Recommended Bet: Back Northampton Saints for a come-from-behind win tonight, at odds of 8.0n/a
