Still got it - Brescia veteran Andrea Caracciolo has been banging in plenty of goals
Vicenza and Brescia are in the bottom half of Italy's Serie B, but Kevin Hatchard says they both have attacks capable of scoring this evening...
Vicenza v Brescia
Monday December 8, 16:30
There was something rotten in the state of Denmark last night, and it was our friend Tobias Gourlay's luck, as a 1-1 draw between Vestsjaelland and Hobro saw his overs bet fall just short. A tragedy Shakespeare would have been proud of.
Now then, let's stay in Europe and begin our week in the second tier of Italian football. Many moons ago Vicenza v Brescia would've been a top-flight fixture, but now the two faded clubs are battling it out in the lower reaches of Serie B. Vicenza are 15th with 20 points, and Brescia are a point and a place worse off.
Vicenza - or the Biancorossi if you prefer - are on a decent run, having bagged three wins in their last four league games. Striker Andrea Cocco has hit upon a rich vein of goalscoring form, having found the net in each of his last three appearances. Considering they are newly promoted from the Lega Pro division, Vicenza have made a creditable start to the campaign, and have found their feet.
Brescia gave Sampdoria a run for their money in the Coppa Italia last week, only going down 2-0, and they have only been beaten twice in their last ten Serie B outings. Veteran striker Andrea Caracciolo (finding out he was 33 made me feel incredibly old) is having an Indian summer - he has scored nine goals in 13 league appearances this term, including five in his last three games.
Both teams have strikers in form, and there's evidence to suggest there could be goals in this one. Both teams have found the net in each of Brescia's last ten league games, and both sides of the scoreboard have also been disturbed in five of Vicenza's last eight league outings.
On that basis you could definitely make a case for backing Over 2.5 Goals at a seemingly generous 2.447/5, but I'm going to cover the 1-1 draw (the scoreline in five Brescia games this season) and go for Yes in the Both Teams to Score market at 1.9720/21.
Recommended Bet
Back Yes in the Both Teams To Score market at 1.9720/21
