Opta Stats: Poland v Scotland is clean sheet-free zone

Robert Lewandowski already has four goals in Group D

Opta's insights point to both teams scoring in Poland, Republic of Ireland failing to in Germany and Northern Ireland losing...

Germany v Republic of Ireland (Sky Sports 5)

Republic of Ireland have failed to score in three of their last four against Germany

German clean sheets aren't exactly fashionable at the moment after a 2-4 loss to Argentina, 2-1 struggle past Scotland and 0-2 reverse in Poland, but there are several indicators that their defence will get their act together against a Republic of Ireland frontline who fired seven past Gibraltar. The Boys in Green were shut out in each of their three most important away World Cup 2014 qualifiers in Sweden, Austria and Germany. Opta note that the world champions are unbeaten in 18 tournament qualifiers at home and haven't suffered successive competitive defeats since Euro 2000.

Recommended Bet: Back Germany to keep a clean sheet @ 1.84/5

Greece v Northern Ireland (Sky Sports 2)

Northern Ireland have lost four of their five internationals against Greece

It is arguable that there will never be a better time or, more pertinently, a better price at which to back Greece to beat Northern Ireland. So far in this campaign, things couldn't be going much better for Northern Ireland (two wins in two) or much worse for winless Greece, but the evidence suggests that both are short-term situations. Claudio Ranieri's men won nine competitive home games in ten before the wobble against Romania, while Opta note that Northern Ireland were without a victory in 15 road trips before their triumph in Hungary.

Recommended Bet: Back Greece to win @ 1.635/8

Poland v Scotland (Sky Sports 1)

Scotland have scored exactly one goal in five of their last six internationals against Poland

This is one of the trickiest of Tuesday night's Euro 2016 preliminary contests to call, with Scotland in fine form and Poland absolutely euphoric following their first ever success against Germany. What does stand out is that both teams to score looks a great bet at odds plumper than evens. Poland have netted nine times across their first three hours of Group D action, while Scotland have notched in each of their most recent five encounters, one of which took place in Warsaw seven months ago.

Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score @ 2.35/4
