Euro 2016 Qualifying Tips: Portugal to bring the goals

Ex-Greece boss Fernando Santos is now in charge of Portugal

Both teams to score in Denmark v Portugal is one of Michael Lintorn's three favourite Tuesday night bets...

Denmark v Portugal

Match Odds: Denmark 3.3512/5, Portugal 2.427/5, The Draw 3.3512/5

Neither of these should-be qualifiers have been too impressive lately, with Portugal losing both of their games since the World Cup and changing coaches in between, while Denmark have won one in three (2-1 against Armenia). Both were given the run-around by Albania, who won in Portugal and were leading Denmark until the 81st minute.

Instead of calling a winner, the both-teams-to-score market seems the ideal place to make hay. Denmark have been shut out just once in a dozen encounters while keeping a mere three clean sheets of their own, Portugal have scored ten and conceded 11 in their most recent six fixtures and both sides notched on each of the previous nine occasions that they collided.

Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score @ 1.9520/21

Finland v Romania

Match Odds: Finland 2.982/1, Romania 2.767/4, The Draw 3.211/5

The stats highlight under 2.5 goals as the standout proposition of this Group F tie: five of Romania's past six matches fulfilled such requirements, as have eight of Finland's last ten competitive outings. However, the smart money has already headed in that direction, resulting in skinny odds of 1.548/15.

Another option to consider therefore is Romania earning a 1-0 half-time advantage at 5.14/1. They have done that in both of their Group F clashes to date, and Finland have been behind by that margin at that stage in each of theirs, as well as six of their latest 11 games in total.

Recommended Bet: Back Romania to lead 1-0 at half time @ 5.14/1

Gibraltar v Georgia
Tuesday, 19:45
Live on Sky Sports Red Button

Match Odds: Gibraltar 19.5n/a, Georgia 1.21/5, The Draw 8.07/1

Gibraltar coach Allen Bula spoke before this debut campaign about targeting the play-offs, but any aspirations of that magnitude have surely been shelved after opening Group D with twin 0-7 defeats to Poland and Republic of Ireland.

While the odds hint that even a first competitive point is beyond the newcomers against Georgia, there is at least cause to believe that their goal difference won't take another hammering. Seven-and-a-half years and 66 fixtures have passed since Georgia netted more than two goals. None of Georgia's last ten matches delivered over 3.5 goals.

Recommended Bet: Back under 3.5 goals @ 2.021/1
