Timeform Irish SmartPlays: Lisrose to make winning debut for de Bromhead

National Hunt racing is the order of the day at Tramore.
The Timeform Irish Team highlight three selections from this afternoon's National Hunt card at Tramore...
Loughderg Princess only managed to reach a modest level on the Flat, but if her last effort over hurdles is anything to go by, she looks sure to prove better over hurdles and looks worth following in the opening maiden hurdle (14:45) this afternoon. After cutting little ice on her debut in this sphere, she improved markedly upon that effort when chasing home Decade Player in a similar event at Ballinrobe last time, keeping on from an unpromising position and finishing clear of the remainder. The bare form of that effort leaves her with a bit to find with some of these, but the majority of the market principals are beginning to look exposed, and Loughderg Princess should have more to offer.
The handicap hurdle at 15:15 features some fair sorts, but Opera Music looks worth supporting as he bids to follow up his success at Wexford in July. A one-time fair performer on the Flat, Opera Music has yet to better modest form over hurdles, but he indicated there may still be better to come when beating Grand Cru by a length in a 16-runner event last time. The form has worked out quite well since and, as long as conditions don't get too testing, Opera Music looks capable of taking this off a 6 lb higher mark.
Henry de Bromhead has quite a lot to look forward to over the coming month and, while Lisrose may not reach the exalted level of some of his more high profile horses, she looks capable of getting off the mark on her debut for the yard in the maiden chase at 16:45. A fair hurdler last term, Lisrose shaped with plenty of encouragement when third to Definite Class in a similar event at Kilbeggan in May when trained by Declan Queally, looking as if in need of a stiffer test. This is by no means a walk-over with Clara More, Its All Hush Hush and Our Girl Lucy in the field, but the step up in trip will uit Lisrose and she is open to improvement.
