Wednesday's Timeform Daily comes from KemptonTimeform offer a runner-by-runner guide to a competitive nursery from Kempton...
Redressthebalance supplemented debut success when bolting up in a 7f nursery at Ascot in July, but has cut no ice in Group 3 company since, failing to settle when well held at Chantilly last time. This is easier.
Lazarus Bell confirmed debut promise when landing odds in a 4-runner maiden at Newmarket in August, and ran to a similar level when third of 5 in a minor event at Sandown last time. Bit more needed now.
Mystical Moment got off mark at third time of asking at Newmarket (7f) in July and matched that when fifth in Goodwood nursery next time. Below that level in 2 subsequent starts, and others less exposed.
Letstalkaboutmoney improved in a visor when second in a 7f Haydock maiden in June. Made frame on next 2 starts, and got on edge before a lesser effort at Doncaster last time. Needs to bounce back with headgear off.
Lady Of The House is a front runner. Opened her account in 6f Thirsk maiden in first-time cheekpieces last month, and had run of race when following up in a 7f Catterick nursery last time. Vulnerable now.
Double Your Money is a half-brother to winning 2-y-o's Bikini Babe and Mutawajid. Confirmed promise of debut when making all at Southwell (6f) in August, and better than he could show on nursery bow. Not one to write off.
Tamarkuz has run to a similar level of form on all 3 maiden starts, winning over 7f at Wolverhampton last time. Pedigree suggests he has more to offer on this surface, and opening mark looks very fair.
Carlton Blue is a front runner who showed much improved form when making winning nursery debut at Ascot (6f) in July. Best effort since when last of 3 in a 6f minor event here a weeks ago, and opposable on balance.
Miss Marjurie was an encouraging second in C&D maiden on debut, and stepped up to win a similar event at Salisbury last time. Possesses plenty of scope for progress, and expected to make a bold bid on nursery debut.
George Cinq showed promise when midfield in 6f Newmarket maiden on debut, and much improved to land a similar event over C&D from Ormindo. Had a bit to spare there, and one to bear in mind now handicapping.
Everleigh progressed well in maidens, winning a 7f event at Newmarket in August. Ran well below that form when down the field on nursery bow, however, and needs to bounce back now.
King Oliver shaped with promise when second to Derwent in a Newbury maiden on debut, but has regressed in 2 runs since. Shaped like horse with a problem last time, and not easy to support now.
Pearl Noir finished runner-up on first 2 starts in maidens before flying too high at Royal Ascot. No impact on nursery debut at Chester in July, but possibly failed to handle track there, and not written off yet.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Miss Marjurie
2. George Cinq
3. Tamarkuz
Timeform View: Miss Marjurie won cosily at Salisbury, and is a scopey sort with improvement to come, so gets the vote over C&D maiden winner George Cinq, and Tamarkuz, both of whom are unexposed nursery debutants.
