Timeform Daily: Monday, Pontefract 15:50

Monday's Race of The Day comes from Pontefract

Timeform run down the field of the listed Silver Tankard Stakes and offer their thoughts...

Allnecessaryforce stepped up on debut form when scoring in the mud at Newcastle (1m) this month. Remains with potential, despite running below expectations in a nursery last week, but this looks too tough.

Esteaming has run to a similar level when twice runner-up in maidens at up to 1m of late, but this altogether more demanding.

Georgian Bay made a fine start when scoring on debut at Kempton (7f) in August. Better form when a place in front of Top Notch Tonto in a minor event at Doncaster last month, but that one improved in the meantime.

Oasis Cannes displayed a good attitude when making all in a 7f Newmarket nursery in August. Further progress when second in a 1m French listed race in September and ought to give another good account.

Pearl Reward justified strong support returning from 4 months off when powering clear to land a C&D maiden in the mud in September. Useful prospect who commands respect stepping up in class here.

Top Notch Tonto has seen form take off in recent months, showing good battling qualities to land a 1m soft-ground nursery at Ayr in September. Sure to be on the premises if repeating that.

Willie The Whipper created a good impression when running out a wide-margin winner of a 4-runner 6f heavy-ground maiden at Hamitlon on debut in August. Useful prospect who should relish step up to 1m.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Pearl Reward
2. Willie The Whipper
3. Top Notch Tonto

Timeform Verdict: Top Notch Tonto sets the benchmark on his nursery win in the mud last month and should give a good account, alongside the thoroughly genuine Oasis Cannes, but Pearl Reward and Willie The Whipper have the potential to improve past that pair, the former awarded a narrow vote.
