The Terrific Three - Cleverley, Evans and Evra all netted for United
There were wins for Manchester United and Tottenham this afternoon but Liverpool disappointed once again, managing just a draw at Anfield...
Manchester United are 3.412/5 to win the Premier League title after moving up to second in the table with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Newcastle at the Sports Direct Arena.
United flew out of the blocks and fully deserved their two-goal early advantage but few people would have predicted their scorers; centre back Jonny Evans heading home first to reward his 70.069/1 First Goalscorer followers, before Patrice Evra netted much to the delight of those who backed him at 38.8n/a to score at anytime.
Newcastle came close to pulling a goal back early in the second half when Demba Ba's header looked to have crossed the line, but replays showed that David De Gea managed to claw the ball out just in time.
The Magpies began to run out of ideas as they pushed to get back into the game and it was Sir Alex Ferguson's men that wrapped up the victory when a cross from Tom Cleverley evaded everyone and landed in the top corner (though the United midfeilder later said he meant to score directly).
The Red Devils were matched at a high of just 2.0811/10 to win the game with the 0-3 Correct Score hitting 25.024/1.
Tottenham followed up their own win over Man United last weekend by beating Aston Villa 2-0 at White Hart Lane. Andre Villas-Boas men were backed at 2.265/4 to win the game but second half goals from Steven Caulker - backed at 46.045/1 in the First Goalscorer market - and Aaron Lennon secured the points.
There was more disappointment for Liverpool however as Brendan Rodgers men were held 0-0 at home to Stoke. That scoreline was matched at 16.015/1 in the Correct Score market.
In the live lunchtime kick-off Southampton and Fulham played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with three goals being scored late in the game.
Jose Fonte was yet another huge-priced scorer - the Southampotn defender was backed at 70.069/1 in the First Goalscorer market - but the Saints never looked comfortable with their slender lead and they eventually did well to score a late equaliser after conceding two second half goals.
The 2-2 Correct Score was matched at 90.089/1 In-Play, with the Over 3.5 Goals option being backed at 26.025/1.
Southampton narrowly climb out of the relegation zone but are still amongst the favourites for the drop at 2.01/1; Norwich at 1.664/6 and Reading at 1.774/5 being the only clubs shorter in the market.
