Home and Away: Lecce won't fall into this Trapani

Can Guillermo Giacomazzi help Lecce to an away win?

Two matches, two bets; one a home win, one for the team on the road. Jonno Turner is your tipster.

We're off to the Netherlands for our first pick of the week - and Sparta Rotterdam host Volendam at the Het Kasteel, looking to continue the excellent home form which has seen the Kasteelheren win four of their last five on their own patch.

Michel Vonk's side have really hit the ground running of late, following a sub-standard start to the campaign, and those mixed results early on in the season mean that last years runners up go into this game placed seventh in the Eerste Divisie.

The Rotterdam faithful will be desperate for their side to improve upon that position, but their form on their own patch is not a problem, having suffered just one defeat in 14 competitive outings before this game.

Ten goals scored in their last three at Het Kastell suggests that Vonk has a depth of attacking quality at his disposal, and the likes of Sandro Calabro and Steef Nieuwendaal will be keen to add to their current goals haul this evening.

Visitors Volendam go into this encounter placed higher than their opponents - but the fifth placed side have lost two of their last three on the road, failing to score a goal in those games.

Hans de Koning's charges have struggled for consistency this campaign, and have not yet tasted victory in back to back games - something that their boss will be desperate to put right sooner rather than later.

A KNVB Beker cup loss against lower league Rijnsburgse Boys a couple of weeks ago will not have done much for confidence in the Andere Oranje camp - and the visitors performance in a 2-0 home defeat to struggling Veendam last time out will also have had de Koning raging.

The away side have only kept one clean sheet in their last 14 league games, and those weaknesses at the back are an example of just how inconsistent the Kras Stadion sides performances have been - they haven't drawn a game yet this season.

Sparta have not lost to their opponents in three games at the Het Kasteel, and I think that their momentum will propel them to another three points here.

Bet 1: Sparta Rotterdam (HOME) @ 1.9310/11

Over to Italy now, as Lega Pro 1 leaders Lecce travel to Trapani, aiming to continue the nine game unbeaten run which has helped to lift them to the summit of the Italian third tier.

Franco Lerda's side have swept all before them this season since their demotion from Serie A due to an involvement in the recent match-fixing scandals, and have not lost in their last four away from the Stadio Via del Mare.

Eight goals scored in that time shows that the Giallorossi are not short of quality up top, boasting the likes of Salvatore Foti, who has smashed six in five outings so far this campaign.

Hosts Trapani go into this tie in seventh place, and have failed to win in eight of their last 11 at the Stadio Polisportivo Provinciale.

Boss Roberto Boscaglia will be desperate to arrest that slump - but this clash against the league leaders may not be the week that he sees his side's luck change.

Just two cleans sheets from 11 home outings suggests that the hosts are likely to leak a goal or two, and that could cost them dearly against a Lecce side who appear to be scoring for fun at the moment.

Bet 2: US Lecce (AWAY) @ 2.166/5
