Misery for the Varbergs BoIS home support tonight?Jonno Turner starts another week of tipping with a look at the action in Greece and Sweden, where he expects Halmstads to continue winning ways
We're off to Greece for our first pick of the new week - and Levadiakos welcome struggling Panthrakikos to the Leavdia Municipal Stadium, looking to make it just one loss in ten on their own patch.
The hosts, managed by Georgios Paraschos, have becoming something of a formidable side at home, but their league position doesn't reflect that - and they sit just one place, and one point, in front of their opponents going into this tie.
That placing is largely down to some miserable away form by the Prasini, and they will be desperate to make the most of their home advantage today as a win could potentially lift them to around mid-table in the Super League.
Three clean sheets from five outings in front of their own fans suggests that the hosts have the defensive capabilities to hold off their opponents here, and a 3-0 win over Panionios last time out will have boosted confidence in the home camp, too.
Panthrakikos travel to their hosts in the midst of a miserable run, and have lost four of their opening five games in the Super League following promotion from the second tier last campaign.
Savas Pantelidis side are suffering from travel sickness ahead of this one, and have lost their last three consecutive games away from the OPAP-Municipal Komotini Stadium.
And that has left the visitors sitting in 15th place, and the relegation zone, following the opening exchanges of this season.
Seven goals conceded in their last three on the road indicates that the Crocodiles have weaknesses at the back, and, always likely to concede a goal on their travels, I fancy the home win here.
Bet 1: Levadiakos (HOME) @ 1.75/7
Over to Sweden now, and Halmstads travel to Varbergs BoIS in the Superettan, aiming to continue the momentum which has seen them go 11 outings without defeat and propelled them third place in the division.
Visiting boss Jens Gustafsson will be delighted with his side's form since their relegation from the Allsvenskan last campaign, and HBK look well placed for an instant return to the top tier if they can continue these performances.
The away side have not lost in five games away from the Orjansvall, and will be desperate to make it half a dozen without defeat as we reach the last few games of the season.
And having dropped points just once in their last nine, Gustafsson's side look a good bet to take maximum points once again here. Their hosts go into this one on a miserable run, and have won just one from their last seven, as pressure mounts on boss Halda Kabil.
What will be of most concern to the home fans will be their side's inability to defend with any consistency - as six goals conceded in their last three shows.
And a 3-1 loss to Degerfors last time out won't have helped confidence down at the Paskbergsvallen either, as they prepare to welcome one of the most ruthless sides in the division to Halland County.
Bet 2: Halmstads (AWAY) @ 2.01/1
