Yarmouth Placepot: Wednesday September 19

Peter Chapple-Hyam's My Propeller has made the perm.
Timeform's Tony McFadden brings you a Placepot permutation from an interesting card at Yarmouth...
14:10- Having already displayed a fair level of form in his three races to date, Lord of The Garter rates as banker material to see us through the opening leg. Brian Meehan's colt was only headed close home in a typically strong maiden at York, beaten by a Richard Hannon-trained horse with classic aspirations. There are some promising types in this contest, but Lord of The Garter sets the standard and should be capable of securing the top three finish we require.
14:40- A winner on debut at Redcar, Isola Verde had threatened to become disappointing, producing three consecutively poor efforts, however the application of a first-time visor appeared to work wonders as she showed something like her debut promise at Kempton earlier this month, running well to finish third having been disadvantaged by a pace bias. She can build on that effort here, and James Fanshawe's filly is the first to make the shortlist. She is joined by Tiger Cub, who appeared to appreciate the drop in trip when scoring for her new yard. Still unexposed as a sprinter, Tiger Cub merits plenty of respect and we will keep her on our side. Links Drive Lady took a while to shed her maiden tag, but she has won on her last two racecourse outings and has always been a fairly consistent sort. She looks plenty high enough in the weights, but the fact she is reliable and arrives in good form makes her a good Placepot proposition.
15:15- Henry Cecil's Group 1-winning mare Timepiece should take advantage of this drop in grade, and she can make an overdue return to the winners' enclosure. Without a win since her triumph in the Falmouth Stakes last July, Timepiece has run right up to her best on the last two occasions, simply finding some of her opponents too strong; she should have no such worries today and is our sole selection in leg three.
15:50- We will rely on a couple of useful three-year-olds in the form of Anjaz and Commitment. The former is a regally-bred filly who shaped well behind Gospel Choir in a strong contest over a mile and a half at Haydock last time. Anjaz left the impression that a return to ten furlongs would suit ideally and she holds obvious claims here. Commitment has been given a break since disappointing on his last two outings at Musselburgh and Ascot, but he did show ability when narrowly denied on his handicap debut at Newbury the time before that and it is too early to write him off.
16:20- Dannios appears to really up his game when he steps onto the Yarmouth turf and he looks primed to produce another good effort on his favourite track. He has won on all five occasions he has raced at this venue and, although this is tougher, he can go close again.
16:55- Five furlongs would appear to be My Propeller's optimum distance and she looks to have plenty in her favour today. She shaped very well on her return from a three-month absence at Haydock last time, but has actually been dropped 2 lb by the handicapper, leaving her on a mark she is more than capable of exploiting.

15:15- 6
