Yarmouth Placepot: Tuesday September 18

Tuesday's Placepot is brought to you from Yarmouth.
Timeform's Tony McFadden brings you a suggested Placepot permutation from this afternoon's meeting at Yarmouth...
14:30- Hopes are high that the inclusion of Sky Garden and Supernova Heights should ensure that we successfully negotiate the opening leg. The former is a half-sister to smart performers such as Enticing and Sentaril, and she has hinted at possessing ability on her two racecourse appearances, finishing in the frame on both occasions. Supernova Heights probably isn't open to the same progress as Sky Garden, but she has already demonstrated a fair level of form and certainly looks capable of securing a top-three finish here.
15:00- Not the easiest leg to negotiate with only the two places on offer, and we will resist the temptation to bank on Medicoe even though he does appear to hold solid claims. Having got off the mark at Catterick, Medicoe ran better than his finishing position would imply at York, coming home in fifth after chasing a strong early gallop. There is a chance that the assessor has underestimated him and he is the first horse to make our shortlist. He is joined by Astrosapphire, who makes her nursery debut here having shown progressive form in maidens. Her second-placed effort at Goodwood was encouraging and, although she will need further in time to show her best, she is capable of making the frame.
15:30- Game All and Atmanna possess the strongest form, but, with both having been off the track in excess of 100 days, there is a doubt regarding just how fit they will be. However, there is not much to take them on with, so Game All, who possibly has the greater scope for improvement at this trip, is reluctantly added to the pot to join another once-raced contender in the form of Pink Lips, who shaped as if possessing some ability on debut recently.
16:00- On last year's form Sirius Prospect would take a fair amount of beating, but he has largely been out of sorts this term and doesn't look like an ideal type for Placepot purposes. Artistic Jewel possesses a consistent profile and, although not as talented as some of her rivals, looks almost sure to run up to the best of her form. We will bank on her to see us through to the penultimate leg.
16:30- The Thrill Is Gone drops in grade, having faced some stiff tasks of late, and may be able to capitalise on the opportunity. She possesses a fair amount of speed and was possibly hindered by trying to force the pace on stiff tracks the last twice. Today's conditions should suit her better and she can make a bold bid from the front. Another Wise Kid enjoyed plenty of success last year and, although unable to replicate it this season, shaped as if he was coming back to his best at Haydock last time.
17:00- An unoriginal choice, but Willie Wag Tail has shaped extremely well of late and it is impossible to overlook his claims. He has been operating in contests stronger than this, looking unlucky the last twice, and confidence is high that Ed Walker's colt will be able to get back to winning ways, hopefully securing the Placepot in the process.
