Timeform UK SmartPlays: Wednesday September 19

Luca Cumani has a couple of live hopes this afternoon.
Good quality Wednesday action at Beverley, Sandown and Yarmouth comes under the spotlight of the Timeform SmartPlays team...
As with many horses from his stable, Luca Cumani's Kiwayu (16:45 Beverley) had a low-key juvenile campaign last year, which included running out on one occasion. However he had a few subsequent winners in behind when making a successful handicap debut on his 2012 return at Lingfield in July and, though hampered and not getting the chance to show what he could do at Kempton last time, still looks on an upward curve. Against a quintet of exposed-looking rivals, he can regain the winning thread here.
The same yard may well be celebrating another winner shortly afterwards, such was the impression made by Quality Pearl (17:05 Sandown) when landing a maiden at Thirsk by four lengths recently. She looked a filly to keep on the right side of that day, almost certainly having more to offer and can make a winning start in handicaps off what looks a fair opening mark.
Arch Villain (17:25 Yarmouth) looked suited by the step up in trip when just denied over this two mile trip at Kempton last time. Twice a winner over 1 miles this year and unexposed as a stayer, he can get his head back in front here, with the reopposing Awesome Pearl possibly giving him most to do.
