The Theo Marks looks a competitive race with plenty of these resuming from a spell. Fat Al, from the Gai Waterhouse yard, was very good last preparation when winning all three races, two of them in Group company. Goes well fresh and the addition of the blinkers should have him ready to fire.
The feature race of the day will see the three-year-olds battle it out in the $1 million Golden Rose, with plenty of these in good form. Hard to go past Nechita, who resumed from a spell in good order to run away with the Silver Shadow Stakes last start. With Stablemate All Too Hard and superstar Pierro not running today she looks the one they will all have to beat after two very impressive wins.
There is no doubt Strawberry Boy has plenty of ability and is progressing through his grades very well. He has won both starts this time in but takes on his toughest test today in the Kingston Town Stakes. He backs up quickly and steps up to 2000m where he was well held towards the end of last preparation but had plenty of excuses. He will need to improve once again to get past the in form Stout Hearted.
