Russell Slade's side have been on form of late
Jonno Turner takes us on a trip through the best picks in the Football League this weekend..
We're off to the Championship for our first pick of this three team multiple, as Cardiff City welcome Rotherham United to the Cardiff City Stadium.
The Bluebirds line up for this one sitting eighth in the table, and just three points off the play-offs following a Russell Slade-fuelled resurgence.
Just a single loss from their last five underlines the improvement since the ex-Leyton Orient gaffer took the reins in South Wales, and back to back wins going into this game will certainly see the hosts full of morale and momentum.
Indeed, it is their home form which is most impressive. Five straight wins, unbeaten since the end of September, with 12 goals notched and just five shipped at the other end.
Visitors Rotherham United, meanwhile, have slipped following an impressive start to life in the second tier.
Steve Evans' side came out all guns a blazing in the early exchanges of this campaign, but now find themselves in 21st place, flirting with the relegation zone.
Only one point separates the Millers from the danger places, and the South Yorkshire side has not tasted victory in seven attempts.
To make matters worse, they've not even managed a goal in four of their last five - that's six long hours of football without a goal - and that toothless form suggests that their fans could be in for a long old season.
The Millers have won only one game on the road all campaign, and it's over three months since that outing. I'm backing the Bluebirds to take the points here.
Bet 1: Cardiff City (HOME) @ 1.855/6
Dropping a division to League One now, as Walsall host Barnsley at the Banks' Stadium.
Just one place separates these two sides in the third tier, but their last few weeks have been wildly different.
The hosts line up for this game sitting 13th in the table, full of confidence and unbeaten in four - a run in which they've managed three clean sheets.
Boss Dean Smith will be delighted with how solid his charges have looked of late, and at the moment it looks like it will take something special to permeate that back line on home turf.
In fact, there aren't many teams that come away from this formidable Black Country venue with a lot to brag about - the Saddlers have lost just one of their last nine on their own patch.
Visitors Barnsley are placed one behind their hosts, on exactly the same points - but three without a win sees the Tykes on a downward curve.
Danny Wilson's side have lost to local rivals Chesterfield and Scunthorpe, and drawn with Doncaster in the last few weeks, and that might have knocked confidence in South Yorkshire.
What's worse, the Reds have lost three of their last four on the road, shipping half a dozen goals in the process, and have won just one of their last four trips to the Banks' Stadium.
Bet 2: Walsall (HOME) @ 1.8910/11
Finally, we're eyeing action in the bottom tier of English football, where Burton Albion travel all the way to the south coast, to face Exeter City.
The visitors make this long and arduous trip sitting fourth in the table, but that position belies their recent form, as they've actually lost three of their last four away from the Pirelli Stadium.
Jimi-Floyd Hasselbaink's side have conceded a massive eight goals in that time, and failed to notch on three of those occassions.
Meanwhile, their hosts, Exeter, go into this encounter in ninth place, but their results in that past few weeks have been much more impressive.
Paul Tisdale's side have won their last two going into this one, and in the bigger picture, just one defeat in eight has them consistently chalking up the points.
The Grecians have won three and drawn two of their last six in front of their own fans, and I reckon they'll grab another positive result for the pile here.
Bet 3: Exeter City (HOME) @ 2.68/5
