The Metro is reporting that Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has told family and friends that he wants to leave the Emirates stadium and join Atletico Madrid.

Atletico were interested in the diminutive midfielder in January but lacked the funds to make a move. However, with Diego Costa's 32million move to Chelsea imminent, Atleti will have the money to move for the former Malaga man.

Despite the player only recently signing a contract with the club, it is believed that Arsene Wenger will not stand in the player's way if the right offer comes in.

Liverpool could miss out on Southampton centre-back Dejan Lovren as Spanish giants Barcelona enter the fray, the Daily Express reports.

With money from Cesc Fabregas's 30million move to Chelsea, the Catalan side are rumoured to be willing to part with the best part of 20million to nab the Croatian from under the nose of Liverpool, as they look to replace the retiring Carlos Puyol.

Meanwhile, the Metro have announced that Liverpool are also planning on opening talks with Hoffenheim over a move for midfielder Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian was in great form last season, scoring 16 goals and creating 11 in just 33 matches, so it is of little surprise that Liverpool and Chelsea have been sniffing around.

Ian Ayre, Liverpool CEO, boarded a plane to Germany yesterday to open negotiations. The club are looking at spending 15million but are prepared to go to 20million if necessary.

Jose Mourinho's summer spending looks set to continue, with the Daily Star stating that the Chelsea boss is looking to raid former club Real Madrid and make a move for midfielder Sami Khedira.

The 27-year-old missed most of last season with a knee injury but Mourinho sees him as the perfect defensive midfield partner to Nemanja Matic. 

He'll have to move fast, however, as Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested in signing the German midfielder. 

Mourinho is also planning a 12million move for Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko, an intended target for Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.

The Ukrainian was unwilling to leave the club in January but the allure of London and Roman Abramovich may just cause the midfielder to reconsider.
