Transfer Rumours for Wednesday 11 June - Loic Remy set for Spurs or Arsenal?

Loic Remy has been linked with both Spurs and the Arsenal

Loic Remy is the star of our transfer rumour round-up, with two north London rivals fighting over his signature...

Loic Remy is understood to have held talks with Spurs, but the Frenchman is holding out for a move to Arsenal.

The striker spent last season on loan at Newcastle from QPR but he will not be moving to St James' Park on a permanent basis and he has already confirmed he intends to depart Loftus Road, despite the Hoops' promotion back into the Premier League.

Goal have claimed the forward has already entered into talks with Spurs, who are ready to pay the 9million buy-out clause in his deal, but no move is expected before the World Cup as Remy recently told L'Equipe that he will use the showpiece event as a "shop window" to impress potential suitors.

The 27-year-old is keen to play Champions League football and it is believed he would prefer a move to Arsenal, with Remy prepared to wait and see whether the Gunners step up their interest before agreeing a switch to White Hart Lane.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to add another striker to his ranks, but Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata and AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli are also considered targets for the Emirates outfit and it remains to be seen whether they will move for Remy.

Manchester United seem set to be one of the busier sides in the summer transfer market after a disappointing season and a change in management, with Holland boss Louis van Gaal set to take charge after the World Cup, but the Old Trafford side have seemingly been dealt another blow in their hunt for midfield reinforcements.

United had been linked with an ambitious move for Bayern Munich's attacking midfielder Thomas Muller, having missed out on team-mate Toni Kroos, but the Germany international has ended any speculation over his future by signing a new deal at the Allianz Arena, keeping him under contract until 2019.

One player who could be heading to Old Trafford is Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, according to the Guardian. The Chile international has been tipped to depart Camp Nou and United are considering a 20million move for the former Udinese star as they seek to strengthen their attacking options.

United could be in line to complete a double swoop from La Liga as Atletico Madrid centre-half Miranda is close to securing a move to Old Trafford. Spanish publication El Confidencial claims the Premier League giants are closing in on the 29-year-old Brazilian as they seek replacements for Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, who were both released at the end of the season.
