Luka Modric is being linked with a move to Chelsea in The Metro

If the media were to be believed then Jose Mourinho is in on every single attacking midfielder who is available, today it is Luka Modric as Alex Johnson fills us in on the latest...

Liverpool transfer target Dejan Lovren has handed in a transfer request at Southampton, according to the Daily Mail.

Brendan Rodgers launched a 40million bid for the Croatia international and team mate Adam Lallana in May, but saw his advances blocked. Lovren has cited his desire to play for a club in the Champions League as the reason why he is looking to move on.

The Liverpool Daily Post understands that Everton boss Roberto Martinez is lining up a move for Heerenven midfielder Hakim Ziyech, who was watched closely by Blues scouts during the closing stages of the last campaign.

The Toffees boss has also expressed an interest in Barcelona's Christian Tello and Real Sociedad's Ruben Pardo, although he insists they are further down his wish list.

According to reports in the Metro, Real Madrid are set to use Luka Modric as part of a deal plus cash to lure Ramires to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Chelsea midfielder was drafted in to Stamford Bridge when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge and he is now keen to re-sign the Brazilian, with Modric expected to head in the other direction along with a fee of around 10million.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is closing in on his second signing of the summer with Anderlecht defender Cheikhou Kouyate.

The Daily Mail suggest a fee of 7million will be enough. The Senegal international has attracted interest from La Liga outfit Valencia, but he is expected to snub a move to Spain in order to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League.

Hull City have joined the race to secure the services of highly-rated Sheffield United centre-back Harry Maguire, who has been courted by Wolves over the past few weeks, according to the Express and Star.

The Tigers can offer top-flight and European football next season and Steve Bruce is keen to add extra bodies to his squad ,as they look to challenge on a number of fronts.

The Blades are looking for a fee of around 2million for the England Under-21 international.

Finally, the London Evening Standard has suggested that Wolfsburg are looking to hijack Atletico Madrid's approach for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

It was understood that Lukaku would be drafted in by Los Rojiblancos, as a replacement for Diego Costa, who is heading to Stamford Bridge. However, the Bundesliga outfit, who signed Kevin de Bruyne from Chelsea last season, are hopeful of doing more business with the Premier League outfit.
