Mario Balotelli wanted by Arsenal? I do love silly season!

Emre Can is being widely tipped to move to Anfield but some other rumours doing the rounds do seem like longer shots...

Liverpool have reportedly tabled a bid in the region of 9.75million for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can, triggering the player's release clause. The Germany under-21 star has been the subject of intense interest from Inter Milan, but it looks like Liverpool are leading the race for his signature.

Staying with the Merseyside outfit, the Liverpool Lallana saga looks to be coming to an end, with a final 25 million bid for the player. It is understood that if the Saints reject this offer, Liverpool will look elsewhere in the transfer market.

Meanwhile, Atlectico Madrid have agreed a fee of 3million for Getafe shot stopper Miguel Angel Moya. Moya's deal raises doubt as to whether Thibaut Courtois will remain at the Vicente Calderon, with much speculation over the keeper's future at Chelsea.

Elsewhere, Diego Costa has reportedly turned down a new deal from Atletico Madrid, who are desperate to keep hold of his services. The deal would have included a substantial increase in salary, but Costa looks all but certain to sign for Chelsea for 35million.  

Manchester United target Enzo Perez insists "there are negotiations between other clubs and Benfica about me". Perez is aware of Manchester United's interest in his services and the Argentine could look to further his career in the Premier League.

Everton are ready to table an 11million bid for Gareth Barry. Everton manager Roberto Martinez wants the midfielder, who joined on loan from Manchester City last season, on a permanent basis.

It is understood that Arsenal are leading the way to bring Mario Balotelli back to the Premier League. The Italian striker has impressed at AC Milan, scoring 30 goals in 54 games, and it has been reported that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a big admirer of the controversial player.

Finally, some news from Tyneside as Newcastle look to the Championship to bolster their attacking options for next season. It is understood the club are preparing an 8million bid for Leeds United captain and striker Ross Mccormack. The 27-year-old has been in prolific form for the Yorkshire club, scoring 29 goals and making him the Championship's top goalscorer last term.
