Timeform assess the chances of each runner in a class 3 sprint handicap at Nottingham...
Whaileyy goes well on AW, improving again this winter in taking 6f handicap at Kempton before finishing second at Lingfield in January. Below form since, including at Newmarket last month, so worth opposing.
Last Sovereign enjoyed a productive 2012, winning 4 times. Just as good this year, finding runner-up spot for third time in 4 starts at Redcar last month, though his mark continues to creep up.
Naabegha was an impressive winner when tackling 5f for first time at Salisbury 12 months ago, and showed he retains plenty of ability on Goodwood return, but failed to build on that at Thirsk 2 weeks later.
Sir Maximilian is a strong traveller who was progressive for Ed Dunlop in 2012. Picked up where he left off by landing 5f Newmarket handicap on return/debut for new yard, and not disgraced in York event since. Player.
Blanc de Chine had a good 3-y-o campaign, winning 3 times over 5f under this rider, and better than ever when landing 8-runner Lingfield (turf) event last month, though was seen to maximum effect on that occasion.
Demora enjoyed good time of it last season, signing off by bagging handicaps at Bath and over C&D. Ran into progressive sort on Southwell return, and remains one to keep on side despite 4 lb weight rise.
Tax Free is a tough veteran who produced a gutsy display when winning at York (5.4f) last summer, and turned in his best effort this time around when fourth at Musselburgh earlier this month.
First In Command thrived last year, completing hat-trick at Southwell and scoring again at Haydock. Caught the eye on return, and though failing to build on that at Thirsk next time still merits consideration.
Taurus Twins landed this event from 4 lb higher mark 12 months ago, and posted best effort for some time when third at Haydock (6f) last month. No surprise if he makes bold repeat bid.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Sir Maximilian
2. Demora
3. Taurus Twins
Timeform View: Sir Maximilian is lightly raced for a 4-y-o sprinter and may have a bit more to offer for his new yard after a creditable effort in a warm-looking York event last time. Demora is another to consider, while last year's victor Taurus Twins cannot be ignored from this mark.
