Two of today's bets come from Folkestone

It's "only" Fakenham and Folkestone on the jumps today, but we've found three bets that we're rather sweet on...

The opening race at Fakenham (13:00) is a selling handicap, but in such modest company any interesting sorts tend to stand out all the more and that's exactly how we view handicap debutant Petie McSweetie. A bumper winner as recently as August, he's shaped as though ready for a step up in trip on all three starts in maiden hurdles and is granted as much today, albeit at a sharp track. There is the lurking danger of a Barney Curley horse that's been slipping down the weights in Me Fein, but Petie McSweetie's yard are no strangers to landing gambles themselves and this has all the hallmarks of being his day.

We don't have to wait long for our second SmartPlay, which runs in the very next race at Fakenham. It comes in the form of Benny The Swinger, who took advantage of a basement mark on his first start since leaving Henrietta Knight earlier this month. He's been hit for more than a stone by the handicapper following that easy success at Huntingdon, but it's easy to make a case for him having more to come assuming he's over what was by no means a hard race on his reappearance. The fact that he's not a clear favourite for this (he should be) only makes him more appealing.

We head to Folkestone, specifically their handicap hurdle at 14:10, for our final selection. Potential fly in the ointment Northern Lad has been pulled out, so we are plumping for Dynamic Idol with a fair degree of confidence. He has shown signs of quirkiness in his fairly light jumps career, but there are also some strong hints towards him being well treated, including his fifth at Warwick on reappearance. Dynamic Idol shaped very much as though the run would bring him on, while two of those that finished in front of him have since won. This relatively sharp test should suit Dynamic Idol well and, fitted with the cheekpieces that have been worn on his best efforts to date, he makes a lot of appeal today.
