Maandag nacht voetbal comes from Holland this week
FC Oss are unfancied by the Betfair markets for their clash with Cambuur in the Dutch Jupiler League this evening, however with back to back victories under their belt, Paul Robinson thinks they can spring a surprise.
FC Oss finished last season dreadfully and they began this one in a similar vein with six defeats in their first nine fixtures. There have been some encouraging signs lately though as they've managed to climb to 15th in the league after picking up seven points from a possible 12.
A creditable draw at De Graafschap was followed by a narrow loss to Veendam, and then in their last two, they've beaten Telstar and Excelsior. Anton Janssen's men will be brimming with confidence after those two results and the incentive of going 11th if they complete a third victory tonight should spur them on even more.
Cambuur have slid to eighth in the league after a bright start, but they did record their first win in four last time out at home to De Graafschap. Alfons Arts' side finished seventh last year and they looked like they could be potential promotion candidates after picking up 17 points from a possible 24, but things have since gone off track.
Defeats to Den Bosch, MVV and Helmond Sport were disappointing despite the class of opposition, and the draw at home with AGOVV wasn't much better. They have won just once on the road this term and they lost this fixture last season.
FC Oss are no world beaters and the back to back victories could indeed be a false dawn, but Cambuur do not deserve to be as short as 1.738/11 to beat them, and that's why I have to make them my lay of the day.
